HISTORY OF THE SCOTTISH INVESTMENT TRUST

Since it was established in 1887, The Scottish Investment Trust has invested money around the globe on behalf of many thousands of people from all walks of life.

In its early days the Trust was committed to uncovering value in turn of the century emerging markets such as North and South America, whilst also investing in opportunities in the UK and its former colonies.

Based in Edinburgh, SIT is one of the UK's oldest and largest investment trusts. SIT's aim is to invest in well managed companies around the world and enable shareholders to access the growth potential of international equities within a diversified portfolio.

SIT's focus on generating returns for shareholders remains intact. The company is independently managed by its own team of professional fund managers whose sole concern is the management of SIT's assets.

We aim to provide a first rate service to our investors.
