The board of The Scottish Investment Trust PLC ("SIT") has received a requisition from members whom SIT understands are all limited liability companies wholly owned (directly or indirectly) by ST Partners of New Jersey, USA and holding in aggregate 40,480 ordinary stock units in SIT (equivalent to 0.016% of the company's ordinary capital).

The Scottish Investment Trust PLC Announces A Major Bond Issue

The independently managed Scottish Investment Trust (SIT), one of the UK's largest investment trusts, has announced the issue of £150 million secured bonds. This is one of the largest investment trust bond issues and the redemption yield of 5.75% is one of the lowest achieved by any trust.

Last year was a good one with our net asset value increasing by over 20%. This performance compared well against our peer group and the 16% rise in the UK All Share Index, although falling short of our benchmark.

NO CHARGES On The Scottish Investment Trust's ISA Until 6 April 2001

To coincide with the second burst of high profile advertising in January 2000 by the AITC's its campaign to promote awareness of investment trusts, The Scottish Investment Trust (SIT) has decided to make no annual charges on its ISA until 6 April 2001.
