Tender Offer result

Following the close of the period for receipt of Tender Forms yesterday in relation to the Proposed Tender Offer for up to 40 per cent. of the ordinary stock of The Scottish Investment Trust PLC (the “Company”), the Company announces that the provisional estimate of tenders received is approximately 28 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary stock units. This figure includes those ordinary stock units tendered pending the resolution of queries on either cover or forms and as such should only be seen as an indication of the final level of the tender. The final tender figure will be announced after the Company's Extraordinary General Meeting on 27 January 2006.
