Purpose of Information Collection
Any personal information or details you submit will be used by SIT for assessment and analysis, including market and product analysis for the purposes of developing, offering and delivering products and analysis of the use of the SIT website to enable SIT to review, develop and improve the services offered by SIT and enable SIT to provide you with relevant information through SIT's marketing programme from time to time. Both companies are registered on the Registry of Data Controllers held by the Information Commissioner's Office. Our purpose for holding personal data and a general description of the categories of people and organisations to whom we may disclose such data are listed on the register. Under the terms of the DPA you are entitled to receive a copy of information or data about you which is held by SIT upon payment of £5. You are also entitled to require the rectification, erasure or blocking of any such information or data which is inaccurate or not up-to-date. If you wish to exercise any of these statutory rights, or if you wish to opt-out of any future processing of your information or data held by SIT, please write to SIT at the address below stating your name and address and providing SIT with any relevant information.

SIT maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in keeping with industry best practice in connection with the collection, storage and disclosure of personally identifiable customer information. SIT regularly reviews and updates such controls in order to respond to changing requirements and technological advances. SIT, however, cannot guarantee the security of any data it collects and stores.

It has been brought to our attention that there have been a number of email scams in operation. These scams send a fake email asking the recipient to go to a website and to enter confidential information (eg credit card details, login details). Please be advised that SIT will never send an email to you asking for any credit, policy or security details to be entered online. If you do receive such an email, you are advised to delete it immediately without responding and to contact the Data Protection Manager listed below.
